A terrific result for Beltarr Charlie Parker today at the Hunt, Point & Retrieve Gundog Association Open Show at the Kennel Club’s Stoneleigh Park venue. From an impressive entry of HWV’s for judge Jean Byrne Charlie’s younger brother, Belatarr Hercules, was awarded 1st Post Graduate whilst Charlie himself was awarded 1st Open Dog. The two boys were then took the double with Herc Reserve Best of Breed and Charlie BOB. Transferring over to Best in Show judge Penny Williams, Charlie then scored a fabulous Reserve Best in Show, cue a flurry of photos for the dog press:
The boys critiques were:
“Belatarr Charlie Parker: a mature robust dog. Good head proportions with good eye colour & well set ears. Deep chest & well sprung ribs. Presented a balanced outline with correct body proportions but well up for size. Strong hindquarters, & moved soundly covering the ground well. Very well handled. My BOB & I understand he went on to RBIS. Well done.”
“Belatarr Hercules: pleasing in head with moderate stop, well muscled neck leading into good straight front assembly with well laid shoulders & ample forearm. Harsh close fitting coat. Well developed hindquarters, presented in good muscular condition. RBOB.”
Jean Byrne
