Phoenix

With great sadness, I have to report that we have lost our beloved Phoenix (Tarndair Phoenix of Belatarr). She was our first HWV, the foundation of the Belatarr Kennel and she completely revolutionised our lives.

Phoenix was the HWVA’s top show puppy for 2010 and the UK’s top HWV brood bitch for 2014 and 2016. The mother of many beautiful Belatarr pups, including Show Champions Belatarr Mahalia Jackson & Belatarr Hercules, as well as a record five Show Certificate of Merits.

She was also a massive character, eternally loving and a true eccentric who never failed to bring a smile to the faces of everyone who met her, along with being the most devoted mother and grandmother imaginable – she continually mothered us and rest of her family every day!

We did not think to lose her so soon and her loss has left a massive hole in our hearts and in our household. We laid her to rest under the trees beside our river that she loved so very much. It was a beautiful warm Spring evening, the air was filled with birdsong, the scent of witch-hazel and the sound of the river. As we watched the sunset across our valley our thoughts were filled with the immense joy that she brought into our lives and those of all the families of her puppies…

I have tears in my eyes as I read Tim. Phoenix was our dog Willow’s grandmother and she is a beautiful girl that fills our life with love and joy. Our thoughts are with you and Phoenix will continue to live on through her offspring.

So sad to learn about Phoenix’s passing. Alba is like her mum in so many ways and we feel blessed to be part of the Belatarr family, which made reading your post even more heartbreaking, but glad to know that she is laid to rest in such a beautiful spot where she spent so many happy days. Love to you both and all of the pack. X

You don’t really know us, but we were influenced by your website and particularly by your photographs and descriptions of the beautiful Phoenix to have our first WHV “Teasel” who is an absolute joy to us daily.
I am sure we are not alone, and that Phoenix will have inspired many throughout her time here.
Our deepest sympathies go to you all Her time was too short , but from the photographs and very evident love, Phoenix shared a wonderful life with you.
    Take care and thank you
    Alison

So, so sorry to hear about your tragic news. I really hope that, with the passing of days, you will all find solace through reflecting on the wonderful life she had and, goodness me!, what a legacy she leaves!

A truly beautiful, warm and inspirational dog, Meeting her and understanding what made her tick was what convinced us to have one of her puppies, Cooroo looks just like her! So many people have had their lives filled with joy, fun, beauty and hi-jinx from her wonderful offspring, well done on giving her such a lovely life.

Dear Tim, we were very sorry to hear about Phoenix. Cooroo is so like her physically and (by the sounds of it) personality wise too. And I shall be giving her an extra cuddle later. Deepest sympathies from Cooroo and the gang on Scilly.
